What are emotions?

Feeling Psychologists have been debating about the nature of emotions for years, though it is understood that it has the following four main components:

  • Feeling. This is the label that we use to describe the emotion.
  • Thinking. What goes on in our logical mind and what we actually think of the event and its interpretation
  • Body Reaction. Our physical body response such as heart rate, sweating, breathing rate, etc.
  • Behaviour. How we respond to the emotion by our behaviour.
