Variety
Just as much as we need certainty, we need variety. People can easily get bored when they are involved in the same thing over and over again. No one is interested in a monotone life. Striving for a new environment, physical activity, new experiences, holidays, new roles at work are all the result of our need for variety.
If not satisfied, people may easily get demotivated which leads to reduced efficiency, sense of hopelessness and restlessness. Notice that the need for variety can sometimes go against the need for certainty and in fact this paradox can from time to time come to frustrate a decision-making process
