Task
The task is what brings the team together. It is the common goal that everyone is committed to and its achievement will represent the success of the team. Reaching a goal has a significant boost on the moral of the group. For a functional and efficient team, the following areas must be address by the team and their leader:
- What are the goals, aims and vision of the group?
- How much resources, people, tools, systems are available?
- What is the plan and schedule to achieve the task? What are the deliverables, timescales, milestones, etc.?
- Who is accountable for what? What are the responsibilities?
- What are the standards, quality processes and reporting duties?
- How is the progress of the team measured and monitored against the goals?
- What kind of review process exists to monitor and subsequently adjust the plan based on the changing environment?
