Worrying
Consider another important emotion such as worry within self-management.
“What if I fail my homework? It will be a disaster. I will not get enough marks for this part of the module. I know the exam will be difficult. I may fail the exam! This is terrible. If I fail the exam, I need to do the whole year again. I can’t go through all the modules one more time. It was bad enough to go through it once! I will not be able to finish my course. What do I do for life? I don’t want to end up working in a fast food restaurant for the rest of my life…What happened to my life…”
As you can see the worrier escalates a situation to stratosphere. Chronically worrying is quite damaging and reduces an individual’s productivity greatly. Worries are usually expressed in words and you hear them in your mind through your self-talk.
