Functions and formulas in Excel are easy to use if you follow the instructions that Excel gives you.  The Function Library on the Formulas ribbon categorises the different functions that you can use.  It is a good idea to when you have time to go through the library and see what functions are available.  You would be surprised at what you could do!!
