An animation is the way you want the objects to appear on the slide during the presentation. PowerPoint gives suggestions for which are the best animations to use for entrance, emphasis, exits and motion paths.

Note: When using animations, be careful not to use too many or too many different types.  You want your audience to get the content of the presentation and not necessary watch how fast information flys in or out or drops on the screen.
