Assignment 1
You own a popular local McDonald’s franchise. At rush times, you face a problem. Customers complain about the chaotic waiting lines to approach the service counter. You once saw two customers nearly getting into a fist fight over cutting into a line. What is more, customers often are so intent on looking for ways to improve their positions in line that they fail to examine the menu. Then they are undecided when their turn arrives. You want to convince other franchise owners that a single-line system would work better than the current multiline system. Most McDonald’s owners must approve any new procedures. You could telephone the other owners, but you want to present a serious argument with good points that they will remember and be willing to act on when they gather for their next meeting.
- Clarify the problem
- What research would you do? Explain where you could gather the information?
- Evaluate your findings and consider alternatives. What are the pros and cons of each alternative?
- Choose the best alternative and present your recommendations and your reasons for choosing it
