  • Identify current problems with records management and how to prevent them
  • Identify different formats of records and how to maintain them
  • Analyse, classify and manage the life cycle of a record
  • Establish alphabetic, numeric and subject filing systems
  • Develop procedures for records management using SANS 15489 as a guide
  • Apply different methods to ensure the security of records and archives

Team Building

The phrase ‘team building’ can be misleading as some may think that team building is literally the process of putting together a number of people chosen by a would-be team leader – this is setting up a team. The process of team building is much more involved. It is more about creating an optimal team that can deliver more than the sum of its parts.

At the end of this course you will be able to interact with other team members using emotional skills and bond with them to maximise efficiency and output.

Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence (EI) helps you increase the quality of your interactions with others and to increase your own productivity by managing yourself better. It is widely accepted that emotional intelligence is as critical, if not more important, than logical intelligence in determining an individual’s success. Emotional intelligence covers a wide spectrum of skills, traits, mentalities and code of life.

This course attempts to capture the essence of these skills. Due to the extensive size of the material on EI, you are encouraged to read books on the subject to fully capture the paradigm and get the best from a variety of techniques that will help you to become emotionally more intelligent. Repetition is a great way to learn these skills so they become second nature to you.

A recommended list of books on EI is included at the end of the workbook.
